Russia may raise coal output 1% to 413 mln tns in 2018
MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) -- Russia plans to raise its coal output around 1% to 413 million tonnes in 2018, as seen by PRIME in documents signed at a ministerial meeting between Russia and Belarus on Wednesday.
Coal consumption is expected at 192.5 million tonnes in Russia and 630,000 tonnes in Belarus, of which 530,000 tonnes will be imported from Russia.
Russia’s coal exports may rise 3.3% on the year to 192.47 million tonnes in 2018.
In April, Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak projected coal output at 410 million tonnes and coal exports at 187–188 million tonnes in 2018.
In 2017, Russia produced 408.9 million tonnes of coal, a 5.7% rise, and exported 186.3 million tonnes of coal, a 14.8% rise.
